J Street U is a student-driven network of activists organizing on campuses across North America for peace, security and social justice in Israel, the future state of Palestine, and across the Middle East.  J Street U Oberlin is Oberlin’s campus chapter of the national J Street U non-profit.  Through programming, education, and action, J Street U Oberlin will create a unique space on campus where students can bring together a commitment to Israel with a commitment to justice, human rights, and democracy.  J Street U is committed to creating an alternate approach to Israel advocacy that embraces open dialogue and constructive activism, and that warrants critical analysis of policies – be they Israeli, Palestinian, American, or other. Past programming has included speakers, music and cultural events, group discussions, and movie screenings.  Additionally, J StreetU Oberlin sends student delegations to regional and national J Street U conferences and assemblies.
